I had the opportunity to work with Daniel Delamare, a passionate art dealer renowned for his expertise and dedication to artists. With a rich career in galleries, he committed to reimagining ways to support artists and bring art closer to its audience. The Covid-19 2020' pandemic highlighted the urgency of addressing this need, leading to the creation of Artschild.

Product

Artschild is an app designed to provide artists with a digital space to showcase and sell their works while creating a social network exclusively for them. Blending the aesthetics of a gallery with the simplicity of an immersive platform, Artschild emphasizes positive interactions and a healthy environment. Unlike traditional networks, it replaces visible "likes" with private "applauses," focusing on celebrating art without fostering visible competition. This approach aims to democratize access to art while strengthening the bond between artists, collectors, and enthusiasts.

Business requirements

Role & Contribution

I joined a multidisciplinary team as a UI/UX designer. Working alongside the lead product designer, I contributed to designing the app based on the provided briefs. At the same time, I conducted several user interviews with artists to better understand their needs and expectations, which directly shaped our design decisions.

Challenges

  • The app had to be ready for Daniel Delamare's next exhibition, scheduled for the following year, which would also serve as the platform's official launch.

  • This time constraint significantly influenced our decisions, leading us to adopt quick methods like guerrilla research to gather user insights.
